Memorial Day

We spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa's house this Memorial Day. It was a beautiful warm and sunny day. Aaron and Helena had a great time playing with their cousins and trying out the new swimming pool.

Fun in the Sun: Our First Family Trip to Florida

Aaron and Helena rode on a plane for the first time last week to go and spend some time with their Farmor and Farfar in Florida. We all had a great time together. While it was a bit of a challenge for Aaron and Helena to sit on the plane, it was well worth all of the fun and sun we enjoyed during our visit! Thank you Farmor and Farfar!!

Aaron and Helena feel very differently about visiting Cypress Gardens. Aaron loved looking at all of the people passing by and the muscians playing music. Helena, on the other hand, was very overwhelmed at first.

Aaron and Helena loved to play with the door stops that bounced back and forth when they pulled them. They would race back and forth to make them bounce. It was quite entertaining for the adults to watch as well!

The Merry GoRound was Aaron's favorite ride during our visit to Cypress Gardens. Helena was a bit overwhelmed by the whole experience.

Thirteen Months

Aaron and Helena helped their cousin Ainsley celebrate her first birthday this weekend. During the celebration, Aaron began to realize that walking may be the fastest way to get around. He impressed everyone with his new found walking skills. Helena has started to take a few steps and is very proud of herself. I am sure she will be chasing after her brother in no time! Other news this month, Aaron has two of his one year molars and two more are starting to break through! Their favorite foods now are bananas and Gardenburgers. The doctor gave them a very enthusiastic thumbs up at their one year appointment. They are now healthy toddlers!

We used some of Aaron and Helena's birthday money to buy them a sand and water table. As you can see, they loved playing in the water. Bath time is so much fun, we just knew that a water table would be great for the spring and summer. Here are a few photos of their first, and certainly not their last, afternoon with their new table.

One Year Old

Helena has really developed into her own little person. She is an observer who is patient and slow to warm up to strangers. She has such a sweet little voice and will melt your heart with her smile. She entertains herself very well and likes to take her time to play and explore. Although she is not yet walking, she is crusing along furniture and can balance herself on her two feet without support.

Aaron is quite the ham these days! He will smile and wave at just about anyone. He enjoys playing peek a boo, clapping and making noises of any kind. These days, Aaron is just a ball of motion! He does not like to sit still for even a minute. He is very interested in the world around him. Aaron has taken a few short steps over the past few weeks. He is able to balance himself very well and we are convinced he will be walking in no time.

Helena rides her new Princess Car. She is working very hard to be able to get herself on and off of her car. At this time, she can only move the car backward, but she will soon master forward motion!

Aaron enjoys playing with his Little People toys. Although sitting still is not something Aaron usually does, he does like to tinker with things. He likes to open and close small trap doors and put his toys in small spaces and then take them out again.
